HAVANA, Abril 23 – The famous Cuban band Los Van Van will have from tomorrow three concerts in Venezuela, in the context of cultural policies implemented by the government of the Bolivarian Republic for the enjoyment of people.
In announcing the cultural program offered by the Capital District Executive and the Mayor of Caracas, Prensa Latina reported today that on Wednesday, April 24, the Teatro Principal in the Venezuelan capital will host the Cuban iconic salsa and timba group.
The group, founded in 1969 and led by bassist Juan Formell, this time will star the show Miércoles Musicales, the renovated Teatro Caracas features and usually includes the performance renowned artists, accompanied by novel exponents of Venezuelan music.
The source adds that the Cubans will have on Thursday a second performance in a nightclub in Caracas, after which they will move to the northern state of Aragua, where the tour will close on Saturday in its capital Maracay.
For over four decades, the Los Van Van orchestra has been one of the most recognized and successful in the history of Cuban popular music.
