Caracas, May 30 – The Conference of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) on Natural Resources for the Comprehensive Development of the Region will conclude in this capital today following various days of debates about different economic, environmental, and social aspects.The event’s fifth working session will take place before the closing ceremony, and will focus on defining tools for a South American strategy of comprehensive development.
According to the program, Latin American experts attending the Caracas meeting will discuss various initiatives, including the Southern Bank, and the new regional architecture of integration, the Unasur Higher Studies Institute, and the South American Geological Service.
The proposal to create Cooperation Networks for the development of integrated knowledge will also be presented, shortly followed by discussions about juridical solutions and prerogatives in natural resources management, as well as energy exchanges in South America.
The results and conclusions of the forum will be delivered by Unasur secretary general Ali Rodriguez.
