Havana, July 14 – First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez described as positive the work being carried out by Cuban journalists amid the difficulties faced by the nation.
Only the less committed have left the journalism sector; today’s journalists, hit by material, connectivity and salary-related problems, are doing a tremendous job for the Revolution, said Diaz-Canel in the final session of the 9th Congress of the Union of Cuban Journalists, at the Havana-based Convention Center.
“Our journalists are holding intelligent debate, I have learnt a lot from their speeches,” he said.
“We have excellent press workers and we will go on because they are committed to the social process,” he added.
“Discussion here fails to go off at a tangent or flirt with the press the enemy wants to impose on us,” he said.
“We are holding debate within the limits of the Revolution to perfect the press our society needs,” said Diaz-Canel.
