Camagüey, Aug 5. – Specialists working for the Department of the Computer Resources for the Learning, attached to the “José Marti” Pedagogical University in Camagüey, are fine-tuning computer programs in a bid to improve the language learning on children.
The above-mentioned computer software has been used with excellent results on children with speech and language disorders in the “Enrique José Varona” elementary school, belonging to the special education subsystem in Camagüey.
In what once was the Research Center on Instructive Games and Computer Software, engineers are working to create an academic portal for this higher education institution and are editing didactic videos to be used within this Cuban eastern province.
The education subsystems are the final customers of these software products, which are engineered by its 13 specialists, following programs conceived by local methodologists and even by specialists from other countries.
Such is the case of a joint project with Mexico, which is geared towards setting up virtual laboratories in disciplines like Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in high schools across that Latin American nation.
Since it was founded more than 10 years ago, specialists of the Department of the Computer Resources for the Learning have done some 60 educational multimedia software.
