Camagüey, Aug 23 – The Cuban youth-child theater and dance company “La Andariega” has been well received during its tour of Europe, especially in the Swiss city of Winterthur, the direction of the Caribbean artistic delegation reported today.
The head of public affairs of this group, Leonardo Richard, told Prensa Latina that
all tickets are sold for the next performance at the Alte Kaserne cultural center of the city, the second largest one in Zurich district, as a sign of acceptance the staging for children and adults has had.
The project of this Cuban city, training talent for acting and future dance career move since early ages, will perform this weekend at the International Theater Festival (Spektakel Theater Zürcher), which hosts professional companies of the world in a rigorous selection, Richard said.
The works chosen by the selection committee were “Caputesco,” “Diatriba para un Gran Pas de Quatre” (Diatribe for a Grand Pas de Quatre), and “Cantando en Puerto Principe” (Singing in Port au Prince), all of them directed by Luis Orlando Antunez (Bambino), artistic and general director of the company from Camagüey, composed for the tour of 17 children, he explained.
Founded on March 23, 1996, “La Andariega,” a special project of the Provincial Cultural Center, has a 60-actor cast, including children and youth, and a repertoire of 27 works.
