Radio Habana Cuba’s journalist receives lifetime achievement award

Havana, Aug 28  – Pedro Manuel Otero Cabañas, a journalist with Radio Havana Cuba received on Wednesday in Havana the Award for Lifetime Achievement in Radio Journalism “Juan Emilio Friguls.”

Raul Menchaca, representative of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) presented the award during a ceremony on Wednesday at the lobby of the Cuban international broadcaster.

Pedro Manuel Otero, also deputy director of Radio Havana Cuba, said he was honored to receive this prestigious recognition, by the name of Juan Emilio Friguls, whom he considers a paradigm of ethics and professionalism.

The Lifetime Achievement Radio Journalism Award “Juan Emilio Friguls”, is granted by Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) to radial press professionals with superior professional performance and outstanding achievements.
