HAVANA, Sep 11 – Cuban singer-songwriter Carlos Varela will perform in October in California, the United States, where he will offer sa series of concerts in various activities of charitable organizations in the cities of Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Accompanied by his musicians, Varela will sing in October 12 in Sacramento, invited by Californians Building Bridges, an association supporting educational programs and humanitarian aid, according to the artist Web site.
The Academy of Sciences of California, one of the world largest natural history museums, will be the venue of the second presentation on the 16th, where the musician will perform in a gala sponsored by the non-governmental organization Rainforest Action Network, which collects funds to preserve forests.
The tour will include, on the 18th, a concert at the Brava Theater Center of San Francisco, in which Varela will sing some of his anthological themes adapted to a trio format, since he will be accompanied by pianist Aldo Lopez-Gavilan and bassist Julio Cesar Gonzalez.
