Havana, Sep 11 – Cuban Volleyball Federation formalized its Scientific Advisory Council here, with coach Eugenio George as honorary president.
“This is one of the goals proposed by the Nacional Commission, to recover the lost space at international level. Everybody knows the modest results from volleyball recently, so we need the contribution, experience and knowledge of specialists who make up this Council,” Ariel Sainz, National Commissioner, told Prensa Latina.
The Council will be chaired by Pedro Manuel Tellez and will include eight PhDs, 10 Masters, specialists, sociologists, doctors, physiotherapists, coaches and psychologists.
The project has clearly defined the historical principles of the “Cuban School of Volleyball”. “It is a work for which we already have certain technological demands, where specialists will research from the base but with an emphasis on high performance in search of short-term results,” said Sainz.
