Havana, Sept 13.- With the attendance of Cuban vice-president Miguel Diaz-Canel, a huge music concert took place at Havana’ s Jose Marti Anti-imperialist Plaza on Thursday night for the Cuban anti-terrorist fighters who were imprisoned in 1998 in the United States.
The concert was called “For our Five Heroes” in which Rene Gonzalez, the only one of the five Cubans to have returned home, addressed the public packed in the square to say that Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, who are still in US prisons, could have been any of them and that they would be present at the concert sharing the people’s happiness, which has been given them strength to resist.
Gonzalez encouraged Cubans to keep on the struggle to bring the four heroes back home.
The Concert marked the 15-year imprisonment of the four men who, along Rene Gonzalez, were given unfair prison sentences after they monitored US-based terrorist organizations.
Antonio, Gerardo, Fernando and Ramon also sent their messages to the concert thanking for the support given to them over the past 15 years and reiterating their firmness and faith in their return home.
