Santiago de Cuba, Sept 20 — Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa arrived today in Santiago de Cuba and meets in Havana with his Cuban counterpart, President Raùl Castro.
Cuban Television said that during the 24-hour-long visit, both presidents will review, along with Cuban ministers and experts, health affairs, including the protection of physically-challenged persons and the reduction of malnutrition and infant mortality.
In Santiago de Cuba, President Correa toured areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy that were refurbished by an Ecuadorean construction contingent. The destructive storm caused enormous damage in the southeastern part of Cuba in October 2012.
President Correa will return to Quito late tonight.
