HAVANA, Sep 23 – A Cuban delegation led by the head of the Communist Party International Relations Department, Jose Ramon Balaguer, took part at the 75th Conference of the People National Party of Jamaica.
Balaguer was received by Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller, and he visited the Chest Hospital in Kingston, and the Jose Marti Polytechnic School in Spanish Town.
During his meeting with Simpson-Miller, Balaguer thanked Jamaica’s support of the Cuban people, particularly against the over-50-year US economic blockade of the island.
The Jamaican Premier stressed the cooperation being offered by Cuba to her country in different fields, such as sports and health. She noted that the factors contributing to the world success of Jamaican athletes include the assistance that Cuba has provided for years.
