Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 26 – More than 70 works by 50 Cuban and foreign artists are part of the exhibition “Latin America: Images of a collection,” in the context of the 28th “Fidelio Ponce de Leon” Visual Arts exhibition opening in this eastern city today.
Artists from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Cuba, among others, are participating in the exhibit on display in this World Cultural Heritage city located some 570 kilometers east of Havana.
Alfredo Fuentes, general curator for the exhibition, starting today and running through Sept. 28, said at a news conference that the exhibition is comprised of works that were shown at various events that were part of the Havana Biennial.
The images show how, throughout the years, so-called conventional artistic work has given way to new kinds of artistic creations, installations and video, said Fuentes.
