Havana, Oct 8 – Storytellers from Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Cuba will meet here, from Oct. 16 to 20, to attend the 4th meeting of Oral Narration Tales for an aged town. Parks, squares, museums, and schools of the in the historic district of Old Havana are the settings chosen for presentations, the event’s organizer, Osvaldo Perez, told Prensa Latina.
Collective telling, talks, workshops and the “Cafe de Convivencia” space at the House of Poetry, which will make the city a big stage, will be among other activities.
The meeting aims to rescue the ancient art of the minstrel, and tell stories in public spaces, Perez said.
Domestic and foreign storytellers, who with their art have managed to encourage the habit of reading, will be honored during the event.
