Russia, Cuba Strengthen Accounting Supervision Ties

Moscow, Oct 17  –  The Vice President of the Cuban Council of State, Gladys Bejerano, said here that the working visit to Russia beginning today will strengthen relations with the Eurasian Federation”s Chamber of Accounts.

The objective of these talks is to strengthen our relations and mark the beginning of parallel control activities, Bejerano told Prensa Latina, after meeting at the Cuban embassy in Russia with the island’s officials accredited here.

Bejerano also stated that the parallel control experience is being developed in higher-level supervisory activities worldwide.

Each country audits within its territory certain objective defined issues of bilateral interest, and this provides a set of positive recommendations for agreements between the two countries, she said.

Bejerano stressed that simultaneously, the exchange between auditors allows for training based on best practices in the global fight against corruption.

After concluding the visit to Russia, the delegation headed by the general comptroller will go to China to participate in the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) congress being held there.
