Havana, Oct 22 – The historical leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro and Vietnamese hero Ho Chi Minh set the foundations of today’s ties of brotherhood between the two nations, said today here a military leader of that Asian country.
The visiting delegation, which includes high-level political cadres of the Vietnamese army, is chaired by Col..Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics of the People´s Army. They placed a wreath at the memorial to Ho Chi Minh in the Parque de la Paz.
The also member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam said that the military institutions of both countries have succeeded in deepening and achieve greater successes in all fields.
He also denounced the blockade maintained by the United States against Cuba, as he was confident in the direction of the Cuban party and government to overcome the difficulties and challenges in the construction of a prosperous and strong revolution.
The agenda of the delegation includes tours to historical, economic, and cultural attractions, as well as a meeting with veterans and families of internationalist combatants.
The Cuban Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frías, received yesterday Ngo Xuan Lich and welcomed his visit to the island.
