Such improvement fundamentally aims to strengthen the agency so it can comply with its main mission of proposing and implementing the foreign policy of the State and the Government, and monitoring its compliance.

A note from Granma newspaper said that the analysis included the study of organizational experiences of the foreign ministries from many other countries, as well as the evolution of the MINREX structure since its foundation on December 23, 1959.

That date marks the beginning of a new stage of revolutionary conceptualization, the text says.

The complaint in international forums of the blockade and U.S. attempts to isolate Cuba, the promotion of unity and integration of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the defense of the principles of international law, has been among the causes the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has defended.

Also included is the showdown to U.S. hegemonies, the struggle for the return of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly condemned in that northern country, as well as face the media consortiums campaigns against the Caribbean nation.
