Havana, Nov 9 – The 4th “Saborear lo Cubano” (“Savoring Cuban Style”) conference to Rescue and Promote Culinary Culture in Cuba opens in Havana on Nov. 13, organizers announced.
Opening remarks will be given by City Historian Eusebio Leal, who is a major promoter of Cuban traditions.
The meeting involves restaurants, cafeterias, hotels and other facilities. For a week, chefs, bartenders, sommeliers, managers and tour operators will discuss culinary-related issues at the Ruben Martinez Villena library, in Old Havana.
The program also includes dinner with traditional Cuban dishes for tourists at the Europa Restaurant, on Obispo Street in the historic district, Habana Vieja.
Habaguanex S.A., the firm that oversees recreation in Old Havana, is the main organizer of the event, as part of a tourism industry strategy to improve the quality of restaurant services by promoting culinary traditions and bringing back popular recipes.
