Camagüey, Nov 11 – The young activist in the cause of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly condemned in 1998 in the United States, Jorge Enrique Jerez, considered today those patriots represent the ideal of the new inescapable man for building a better world.
Jerez, president of the Movement for The Five in Camaguey, some 570 km east of Havana, said the cause of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, and Rene Gonzalez, is a cause of Cuba and the world.
Rene Gonzalez is the only one who has returned to the island after completing a 13-year sentence in prison and an additional punishment of supervised release in the northern country, he recalled.
The activist referred to the need that those actions are multiplied by many media in each workplace, educational schools, in neighborhoods and communities across the country and the world.
In that systematic work, youth should take the initiative, and said the perspective and the union in this human battle could not be lost, Jerez explained.
Humanity must know that the Five, as the Cuban antiterrorist fighters are known internationally, were arrested, for warning Cuba from actions planned against their people by terrorist groups settled in south Florida.
Through the global solidarity, we can help to the return to homeland of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, and Fernando Gonzalez, who still remain confined in U.S. prisons.
