Paris, Dec 20 – The book “Severiano de Heredia: ese mulato cubano que París hizo alcalde y la República ministro” (Severiano de Heredia: that Cuban mulatto that Paris became a mayor and the Republic a minister) was launched at the government headquarter of the French capital by its author, researcher and university professor Paul Estrade.
The text aroused great interest among those present in the auditorium. It tells the exciting and less known story of a Cuban man who developed a long political career here and occupied important posts during the 19th century.
Published for the first time in 2011, this book was already launched at the French National Assembly and Senate.
Academicians, students, intellectuals, and diplomats, as well as members of the municipal government, attended the launch of the volume.
