Florida april, 23 – Spanish Language Day is celebrated every April 23th to pay tribute to Miguel de Cervantes and his novel ” The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha ” considered the masterpiece of Spanish language, international language, which has more than 450 million Spanish speakers in the world.
Cuba joins the list of countries in Latin America that have been distinguished by speaking well, as it plays an essential role the Cuban Academy of Language.
As years went by, the variant of Cervantes language has drawn on national terms and expressions from different countries, so in addition to Cuban Spanish words such as baseball, shampoo, cassette, chalet and others which enrich our mother tongue.
Celebrating this April 23th the Spanish Language Day should also become a great tribute to great personalities of language as they were Alejo Carpentier, Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, Gabriel García Márquez and so many that dignify the work of Cervantes.
