Florida, april 28 – The Art Gallery of the municipality of Florida exhibits “Martyrs 189”,  personal exposition of  the plastic artist  Alexander Hernández, with copies of the seven bills that make up the paper money of Cuba, highlighting the image of the historical figures they contain.

Using mixed techniques, the artist gives loose rein to the imagination and exposes full body images of José Martí, Antonio Maceo, Camilo Cienfuegos, Ernesto Che Guevara, Máximo Gómez, Calixto Garcia and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, figures whose pictures are shown in the front of the banknotes currently circulating in Cuba.

This time, the creator goes beyond the economic value of the bills and transformed it to give an artistic value to society and called the show “Martyrs 189”  to highlight these great men of our History and the result of the sum of each of the specimens of banknotes circulation in our country.
