Havana, May 7 – Cuban archers hope to dispute the title of the men’s teams of the Central American Games and of the Caribbean in Veracruz, Mexico, next November, announced today Vladimir Quinta, head coach of the Cuban team.
In statements to the Cuban News Agency, Quinta pointed out the male team should discuss the golden medal with Mexico in the regional contest, and in the females will have it a little more complicated, but they also aspire to be included among the medalists.
According to the trainer, the national pre-selection includes five men and equal amount of women, all with the same options to integrate the trio of competitors, in both sexes, to attend the central Caribbean lid.
To do so they will select the athletes with the best performance and with the best sportive conditions when close to the competition.
Quinta also highlighted among those with greater possibilities to integrate the team Maydenia Sarduy and Larissa Pagán as leaders due to their experience, as well as Juan Carlos Stevens, Hugo Franco and Jaime Quintana.
