Havana, Jun 3 – Cuban pianist Harold López-Nussa confirmed today he will having two separate tours in France, Italy, United States and Canada to promote his award-winning album New Day (Colibri, 2013).
Speaking to the Cuban radio, Lopez-Nussa stated such album is very special because it was recorded in Cuba, as his previous records Herencia (Legacy) and El Pais dela Maravilla (Wonderland) were born in France.
“It was a very significant change because I did it with the musicians that play with me in clubs, in theaters, the ones that know my music, my way of living, what inspires me,” he said.
Lopez-Nussa will be promoting this new album in the French cities of Béziers, RoquefÃ¿re and Marciac, and the Italian cities of Tuscany and Sardinia from July 24 to August 8. Then, from September 21 to October 12 he will perform in the U.S. cities of Monterrey, San Francisco, New York, Washington, Old Lyme, Laurel and Wellfleet, and Toronto, Canada.
López-Nussa consider that Cuban musicians have shown they have enough quality to be in an international market.
During his presentations hw will be accompanied by double-bassist Gaston Joya, his brother Ruy Adrian Lopez-Nussa on drums and percussion, and trumpet player Maiquel González.
