Cuba, jun 7 – Nobel Prize laureates Rigoberta Menchu, from Guatemala, and Adolfo Perez Esquivel, from Argentina sent messages of support to the Five Days for the Five campaign, underway in Washington D.C. to demand the release of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters held in US prisons since 1998.
The messages insist in the need that the White House, and president Barack Obama in particular, give a definitive solution to the case of the Cuban Five, which would translate into the return to Cuba of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino and Antonio Guerrero.
Over 250 people have joined the campaign in Washington, said Alicia Jrapko, coordinator of the International Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five. At the same time, solidarity actions with the campaign are taking place in nearly 42 countries of the world, the activist told PL news agency.
