HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 – Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (CC of the PCC), met on Thursday morning with Medardo Gonzalez, General Secretary of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) of El Salvador, who is in Cuba heading a delegation of that political organization, at the invitation of the PCC.
The meeting took place in a fraternal atmosphere, an occasion in which Machado explained the development of the agreements approved at the 6th Congress of the PCC and the 1st National Conference.
The visitor gave his assessment on the current situation of his country. Other topics of interest of the Latin American arena were also tackled.
The two leaders agreed to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship existing between the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front and the PCC.
Participating in the meeting were Jose Luis Merino and Nidia Diaz, members of the Political Commission of the Salvadorian party and Sandra Geraldina Alvarado, ambassador of El Salvador to Havana.
Also attending the meeting were Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat and head of the Department of International Relations of the CC of the PCC and other officials of the PCC.
