Havana, Feb 13 – The goodness of the Cuban leisure industry appear strongly starting today in the beginning of one of the most important European tourism fairs, the Italian BIT 2015.
A communique issued by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MinTur) stresses the interest of the authorities to attract more Italian travelers, hence for three days (February 12th-14th) a large delegation will attend the 35th edition of the International Tourism Stock BIT 2015, in Milan.
The Cuban presence in this event, responds to the interest of strengthening links between tourism in Cuba and the Italian partners.
Said participation this year has as its main objectives to promote the 35th Edition of the Cuban International Tourism Fair (FITCuba) dedicated to Italy as the guest of honor.
The event will be held from May 5th to 7th, 2015 in Jardines del Rey, a tourist destination located to the north of the province of Ciego de Avila (in the center of the country).
Its keys, named Coco and Guillermo, have natural resources ideal for the development of nautical activities, product to which FitCuba 2015 dedicates itself.
The event will take place in the Jardines del Rey hotel and Cubanacan Travel will act as receiver.
New to the edition of FITCuba, and purposefully to the entry into force of Law 118 of Foreign Investment in Cuba, the meeting will make emphasis in business.
For that occasion, says the Tourism Ministry, Italian suppliers will display the products they sell in the field of gastronomy and sea navigation.
Other objectives of the Cuban participation in BIT 2015 will be showing professionals and the general public the variety of the tourism product of the island, especially the potentials of Havana, Cayo Largo, Varadero, Keys to the north of Villa Clara, Jardines del Rey, Holguin, and Santiago de Cuba.
These places are highlighted by the MinTur report as the preferred destinations of the Italian market.
The Cuban delegation in Milan will be headed by MinTur representatives and the Office of Tourism of the Embassy of Cuba in Italy, the Havanatur International Group of Tour Operators and its representation in Italy, Cubatur.
Italy is a very important market for Cuba, with a growth tendency in the issuance of tourists, since it closed 2014 with 112,076 visitors, an increase of 17.3 percent of arrivals, compared to 2013.
