Havana, March 10 – Cuban pianist and composer Aldo López-Gavilán will begin a tour around the United States on Friday, which includes presentations with prestigious orchestras from that country.
The first three concerts will be held alongside the Northwest Sinfonietta, one of the most important ensembles in that nation, and will take place on March 10, 11 and 12 in the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Puyallup, Washington.
During the tour, López-Gavilán will present some of his best-known compositions such as Epílogo (Epilogue), Viernes de ciudad (City Fridays), Eclipse (Eclipse), Talking to the Universe and Luciérnagas (Fireflies).
According to its official website, the tour favors collaboration and cultural exchange between the two countries.
The young musician, an outstanding exponent of classical music and jazz, received numerous awards in several countries, including the Cubadisco 2000 and the first prize in the International Piano Soloist Competition in London, United Kingdom.(Prensa Latina)
