Brasilia, Mar 20 – In the midst of the very serious water shortage facing by most of the cities in the northeast of the country, Brazil will hold the First National Symposium on Desalination and Reuse of the Vital Liquid.
The meeting will take place next 23 in Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará, and in the opinion of Renato Giani Ramos, one of its organizers, will take place in ‘the right moment and to break paradigms.’
The event, he explained in a statement to the website of the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES in Portuguese), will give a technical, managerial and economic view of the subject and will allow to discuss how to make feasible solutions of desalination and reuse in the Brazilian reality
In his opinion, what was once considered a costly alternative, is becoming more feasible and necessary to expand the range of water production options, in such a way that could be guaranteed continuous supply and with an excellent quality standard , Both for industry and the population.
Organized by ABES, the symposium will address among other topics desalination as a solution to diversify the water matrix and economic development; Will address some experiences on this process and on water reuse, as well as issues related to the public and private financing of these alternatives.(Prensa Latina)
