Several Exchanges on Main Productions at Cuban Agricultural Fair

Havana, Mar 24 – The 20th International Agricultural Fair, Fiagrop 2017, continues works today with several exchanges on milk, grains, poultry, coffee and other productions among the participants on the 54 projects of the business portfolio presented by this Cuban sector.
These opportunities also include swine production, cigarettes, cocoa, energy from cane and forest biomass, tobacco, honey and charcoal.

Of that group, the last three are the main export items in the sector, according to Agriculture Minister, Gustavo Rodriguez.

About 63 foreign firms and several Cuban exhibitors have been participating in the business rounds taking place in the exhibition, which has been considered a record.

This activity is promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and the business groups of the represented organizations.

The roofed exhibition area at Fiagrop 2017 covers 2,059 square meters, in five pavilions, the last one was built in only 50 days, due to the increasing demand for participation.

As part of the fair’s activities, about 900 species of sheep, pigs or goats and cattle, horses or mules from the country’s cooperatives and farming enterprises are being exhibited.

Rodeo competitions, talks and keynote speeches on pasture production, animal genetics and seed development, among other issues, take place in the exhibition, attended by representatives from Panama, Mexico, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Venezuela, Guatemala and others nations.(Prensa Latina)
