Cuba, Apr 27 – In honor of May Day, a cultural gala was held on April 26 in the Lázaro Peña Theater affiliated with the Cuban Workers’ Federation (CTC).
During the event, which featured dance and musical performances; artists such as Omara Portuondo, Vania Borges, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, and Obini Batá, among others, reaffirmed their commitment to the revolutionary process and support for the Party and Cuban government.
They also paid tribute to Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro, demanded an end to the U.S. blockade against the island and the return of the territory occupied by the illegal Naval Base in Guantánamo, while also reaffirming Cuba’s solidarity with Venezuela.
Attending the gala were members of the Communist Party of Cuba Political Bureau Salvador Valdés Mesa, also a Council of State vice president, and Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, CTC secretary general.(Granma)
