Washington, May 26 – The US Holland America Line cruise company, based in Seattle, Washington, is joining the growing list of cruise lines offering voyages from the USA to Cuba.
According to plans announced by the US company, the first 1,350-passenger Veendam voyage to Cuba will kick off on December 22 from Fort Laurderdale, Flar.
The first 12-night trip will feature stops in the Cuban ports of Havana and Cienfuegos.
Cuba is one of the most coveted destinations for many of our guests, Orlando Ashford said, president of Holland America Line.
For many people, traveling is like seeking for new places to explore and discover significant cultural openings, he stated.
In addition to Havana and Cienfuegos, there will be other 7-, 11- and 12-night itineraries until April 2018, including stays in the Dominican Republic, Belize, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
As reported by the aforementioned media, the voyages to Cuba meet the US GovernmentÂ´s requirements, permitting its citizens to travel to Cuba within 12 categories, and not as tourists.
Holland America became the third cruise line of Carnival Corporation to be approved to sail to Cuba,the source added. (Prensa Latina)
