International Symposium on Cultural Diversity in the Caribbean Ends

Havana, May 26 – Lectures and concerts are closing today the 6th International Colloquium on Cultural Diversity in the Caribbean, celebrated in this capital since Monday, May 22th, under the motto ‘Memory and border conflicts”.
Today’s agenda include a talk ‘Oscar Lopez Rivera free’, in which the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Fernando Gonzalez, and the head of the Puerto Rico mission in this country, Edwin Gonzalez will participate.

Also on the list are the panels ‘Permeable borders: languages and art in transit’ and ‘Geopolitics of memory: memory and critical thinking’, with the participation of specialists and scholars of these issues.

Barbadian artist Mighty Gabby will offer a concert at 19:00, accompanied by Cuban musicians.

Organized by Casa de las Americas, the colloquium brings together representatives of several countries around issues such as geopolitics, heritage management and decolonization.(Prensa Latina)
