Camagüey, Sep 19 – More than 24 thousand rooms are expected to be built in this territory as part of the hotel development of the country, of which more than half will be located in Cay Cruz, in the North of Camagüey. The first hotel from the ones expected to be built, and that will also transform this place into a major tourist destination, is almost done.
Quebrada 17, name of the construction project, is planning its opening for the beginning of next year with the five-star category and 546 rooms. In addition to a service centre with capabilities for lodging, the spa offer, a Convention Center, a House of the habano, several restaurants, a shopping gallery, a bowling alley, an ice cream parlour, and a party room.
Built by the company’s works for the tourism (ECOT) and with the collaboration of the International Economic Association, the recreational enclaves seek to ensure greater enjoyment and comfort to vacationers with the least possible damage to the environment, characterized for its beaches’ beauty and virginity.
The investment was certified as a sustainable construction, in a first stage, through the prestigious assessment method Breeam (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) which, among other things, measures the environmental impact building.
Delayed by the passage of hurricane Irma, in September last year, the Quebrada 17, temporary hotel name, it will be the first that will boost the nation’s economic development in the Northern cays of Camagüey.
Nowadays, the infrastructure that will support the operation of the tourist complex with essential services is being built as well.(Cadena Agramonte)
