Recognition of rural women is encouraged in Florida

Florida, Sep 3.- Recognition of the efforts of rural women with good results of their work is maintained as a working principle of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in the municipality of Florida, for which it is linked to the rest of the mass organizations of the territory, including the Federation of Cuban Women.
As a result of this agreement, the inscription of the name of numerous farmers of the territory in the Book of Honor of the Camagüeyana Woman stands out, among which stand out, as the most recent, that of Mirna Pedroso, president of the ANAP grassroots organization in the Frank País García Agricultural Production Cooperative, together with María Elvira Báez and Elvia Reina Cervantes, associated with the Frank País credit and services cooperative.

The leadership of the Municipal Committee of ANAP and the organization’s structures at the base defend in Florida the agreements derived from its 11th Congress regarding the highlighting of the role of rural women, their progressive empowerment and the constant opening of spaces with the objective of promote and enhance the participation of women in the socio-economic and political life of the sector.
