Florida, May 12 – The controlled health intervention with the vaccine candidate Abdala, for the protection of the highest risk groups against COVID-19, began this Monday, May 10 in the municipality of Florida, where it is planned in this first stage the application of the immunologist to about 2 800 workers and students of the Public Health Sector.
To achieve this objective, two vaccination centers operate in the North and South Polyclinics of the city, centers where the biosafety, medical assistance and logistics conditions required to supply, as a daily average in this territory, some 280 doses of the anticovid formulation were created. as reported by the Directorate of the Municipal Health Subgroup.
Abdala’s vaccination scheme, developed by specialists from the Cuban National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, contemplates the administration of three doses to each individual in a staggered manner in about 28 days, with a difference of two weeks between each injection.
The application of the vaccine candidate Abdala to workers and students of Public Health in Florida responds to the national objective of protecting the groups most at risk from COVID-19, and in that sense health personnel have priority, to maintain vitality assistance services to the people during the current outbreak of the pandemic in this municipality.
