
Florida, May 20.- With the placement of a floral offering to the bust of the Apostle located in the park that bears his name, the tribute to José Martí began this May 19 in Florida on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of his fall in combat.
Primary, secondary, pre-university and technical education students gathered there to join educators, cultural workers, combatants, members of the University Chair for the Elderly and other participants, to pay tribute to the National Hero.
Poems, songs and drawings related to the life and work of Martí were exposed in the act of remembrance, where members of the Union of Young Communists presented the executive that will direct the actions of the organization of Pioneers of the municipality.
Other activities carried out in Florida in homage to the Apostle of the Independence of Cuba on May 19 were the Martí Youth Event and the Black Doll Festival, as journalist Marisol León Álvarez reflects in the following report.
