
Florida, March 30.- At Rolando Valdivia Tobacco Factory in the municipality of Florida, the 18 students who are trained as skilled workers in rollers at the Sabino Pupo Milián Polytechnic Agricultural Institute (IPA) carry out their work practices.
In this period, the students go through all the areas of preparation of the raw material, from the activity of destemming, twisting tobacco and ringing, according to Dayamí Milanés, a tobacco expert and teacher in the industry.
The teacher also explained that three times a week the students receive classes in the annexed classroom located in areas of the factory, which facilitates the socialization of knowledge and the link between young people and the entity’s workforce, from which they learn essential elements of a trade that is traditional in Cuba.
