Havana, Aug 30  –  The antiterrorist Rene Gonzalez, called today to boost popular initiatives during the journey of solidarity with the Cuban Five to achieve their excarceration.

The Five, as Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez are known, were arrested in Miami in 1998, for aborting anti-Cuban plans organized by violent groups. Activists call for new actions in support of the Cuban Five

Havana, March 5 — The International Committee for the Freedom of the five Cuban political prisoners held in the United States since 1998, called for a new day of action in support of these men.

´As part of the Five for the Five initiative, which dedicates the fifth day each month to promote actions in support of the Cuban counter-terrorism fighters, activists from the International Committee urged sympathizers from around the world to send letters and make calls to the White House demanding the release of the Cuban men.
