Florida, Dec 7.- The Floridian people pay tribute to the combatants who fell on African lands, as part of the commemoration of the 126th anniversaries of the fall in combat of General Antonio Maceo and the 33rd anniversary of Operation Tribute.

Florida, Dec 3.- Officers, soldiers and civilian workers of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) commemorate this December 2 the 61st anniversary of the creation of this prestigious military institution, which after the revolutionary triumph of January 1959 is guarantor of the defense of the sovereignty of the national territory.

Florida, Nov. 4.- Emilio Milanés Ofarrill from Florida was one of the thousands of Cubans who as an internationalist fighter traveled to the African continent to fight for the total independence of Angola, in what history recognizes as Operation Carlota. A tanker in the military regions of Huambo and Benguela, this Floridian fighter shared the experiences that he treasures of his participation in that feat with the journalist Marisol León Álvarez from the information services of Radio Florida.
