Agriculture Department demands support for livestock control in Florida

Florida, May 24 – The municipal directorate of Agriculture in Florida called on the producers of the territory to guarantee the necessary conditions for the normal development of the National Exercise of Inspection of the Tenure, Use and Control of the Land and Livestock, initiated here since last March.

During a meeting with presidents of production units and other managers of the agricultural and sugarcane-cane sector, the Deputy Delegate General of Agriculture, Arelis Ugalde Martín, warned about the obligation of stabling the cattle in the farms, on the date established for the count, and also to present the documentation required for the work of the commissions in each place.

The official commented that among the negative incidences for the progress of the ongoing inspection, the most important were the absence of certificates of ownership of the land and animals on the farm on the day of the visit, as well as cowboys who sent the cattle to the paddock before the arrival of the inspection team.

At the meeting of agricultural producers in the municipality of Florida, it was also reiterated that those who engage in such behavior may be fined up to 20 thousand pesos for violating the law.

The schedule for the execution of the National Land and Livestock Inspection Exercise was informed in a timely manner, and all cooperatives know in advance the day, itinerary and number of producers to be controlled on each day.
