Cuba, Aug 18 – In recognition of their outstanding careers and the revolutionary values which have distinguished their leadership within the Federation of Cuban Women, a group of women were awarded the August 23 Distinction, yesterday August 17, a few days prior to the 57th anniversary of the organization’s founding.

Thousands March in Support of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in Caracas

Caracas, March 4  — Thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets of Caracas on Sunday to show support for President Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian revolutionary government he heads.

Dressed mostly in red and carrying signs with slogans like “I am Chavez” and “Youth with Chavez”, the young supporters of Chavez began their demonstrations during the early hours of Sunday.
